The reflector is one of the simplest and most useful light modifiers.
Used both in the studio and outdoors to reflect or diffuse the light of the flash or the sun.
The five surfaces have different characteristics:
- White (satin): allows to obtain diffused and soft light, it is ideal for filling in the shadows. It is neutral in color and can also be used as a background.
- Silver (mirror): does not diffuse light like a white screen, but produces contrasting lighting. It does not change the color temperature of the light and can be used both as a main effect light source.
- Silver-Gold: is alternately covered by a characteristic pattern arranged in silver and gold stripes, gives a warmer color contrast light than the silver screen.
- Diffusing: it is transparent white, it transmits a soft and strongly light. It can be used to attenuate the light coming from the flash or the sun and not changing its color.
- Black: reduces light reflection and can be used to create shadows or can be used as a background.
